Let us affirm our fellowship with the Holy Trinity: We live in communion with the Holy Trinity. The Father searches our hearts; the Son intercedes for us; the Spirit calls out within us.
Romans 8:26 In the same way, the Spirit helps us in our weakness. We do not know what we ought to pray for, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us through wordless groans.
Spirit of Jesus, intercede for us.
Romans 8:22 22 We know that the whole creation has been groaning as in the pains of childbirth right up to the present time. 23 Not only so, but we ourselves, who have the firstfruits of the Spirit, groan inwardly as we wait eagerly for our adoption to sonship, the redemption of our bodies.
Spirit of Jesus, pray with us.
Oh, Holy Spirit, thank you for sharing with us in the ache of the world. Even we who have the first fruits of your divine life ache and groan within this fallen world. But you groan with us. You transform our ache into intercession to the Father. Translate our wordless groans into eloquent appeal to the Sovereign Lord. Pray in us, oh Holy Spirit; pray for us, Divine Advocate. Counsel us with the gentle wisdom of Jesus. Grant us the Savior’s passion to follow you into desert places and overcome the enemy of the world. Empower us for witness to the saving life of Jesus in a dying world. In the Savior’s name, amen.
Spirit, pray with us.
18 And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the Lord’s people.
Intercession. Pray the Spirit’s comfort, counsel and inspiration to those who ache in our world today. Pray praises. Pray lament. Pray warfare. Pray rest.
In the Name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit, Amen.
