​EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR Dr. Wes Johnson is the Director of Awakenings Prayer Institute. He holds the BA in English from Seattle Pacific University, the Master of Theology degree in Old Testament from Dallas Seminary, and the Doctor of Ministry Degree in Transformational Leadership from Bakke Graduate University. Wes served as a pastor in the Baptist General Conference from 1984 until 2022. He has taught the integration of leadership formation and spiritual formation at BGU, in his local church, the Summit School of Ministry in Bellingham, Washington, at Seattle Bible College and elsewhere.

​Dr. Theresa Schaudies, is the Director of Operations and Programs at API. She serves as Prayer Ministry leader at Bethel Baptist Church. Retired from the US Navy, Theresa served for 20 years as a compassionate listener in the CREDO retreat program. Theresa holds a BS in Business Management, a Master’s in Adult Education from Boston University and a Doctorate in Transformational Leadership from Bakke Graduate University. She received certification as a Spiritual Director from Christian Formation and Direction Ministries and enjoys serving as a director.

Kathryn Johnson, worship director, served as lead worshipper at Bethel Baptist Church for many years. Kathryn holds the BA from Seattle Pacific University and the Masters in Adult Education from Western Washington University. Kathryn teaches at Everett Community College in the Bridge to College Success division. She enjoys reading, writing, sewing and celebrating life with family and friends. She and Wes have been married since 1980.
